We call on all members of American Congress not to support efforts by certain members of Congress
to reverse policies which have helped reunite Cuban families and which have
contributed to breaking the isolation imposed on the Cuban people.
These policies put in place since 2010
have allowed Cuban-Americans living in the United Stated to assist their families and friends by remittances, which
have helped them face their great needs due to the critical economic situation
existing in Cuba, and also to start small business recently allowed, which breaks dependence
on the Cuban state.
These policies have pemmitted hundreds of thousands of Cuban-Americans to travel
to the island, contribututing to strengthen family links and
are a significant flow of ideas that may help progress democracy in Cuba.
